Marc Greig

Head Coach

in his second year as head coach, Marc is a decorated footballer who has achieved many highlights in his career.

As a North Ballarat Rebel, Marc played 44 TAC Cup games, was an U/16 representative in 1996 and U/18 representative and captain in 1997. Voted All Australian in 1997, he was part of the only Rebels premiership team in 1997, winning the best & fairest that year and finishing runner up in 1998. He holds his position in the Rebels Team of the Decade with some great players alongside him.

Marc played 209 senior VFL games with The Roosters and 19 reserves games, being part of the reserves premiership in 1999 and winning the Fred Hill Medal for best on ground. He was also the club reserves best & fairest runner up.

Marc then went on to a great career with the Roosters. He was part of the VFL state team in 2002, 2004 and 2005, vice captain of the Roosters from 2002–2005 and captain from 2011. He is part of the Roosters team of the decade, a premiership player in 2008, 2009 and 2010, finished third in our best & fairest in 2001 and was runner up in 2002 and 2005.

In 2006-2007, Marc returned to the Wimmera Football League as a playing coach with the Warrack Eagles and then returned to VFL football at North Ballarat in 2008.

In 2013 & 2014 he played an integral role both on and off the field with North Ballarat City Football Netball Club in their back to back premierships.

Leigh Hutchinson

Assistant Coach - Defence

From Warracknabeal, Leigh was identified as a junior talent and played with the Rebels in the backline for two years, taking part in their only premiership in 1997. Leigh was able to do a pre season session with the Bulldogs but played with the Roosters in Ballarat for two years while at university.

Moving to Hopetoun for work, Leigh was part of the senior premiership in 2002 with Warracknabeal before playing at Hopetoun for nine years and coaching for four years. Leigh played representative football for the Wimmera and Mallee leagues on several occasions, winning a league medal during this time.

Returning to Ballarat, Leigh was an assistant coach with Waubra before coming back to the Roosters. Leigh is also a coach of our U/8 boys.

nick daffy

Nick Daffy

Midfield Coach

Nick Daffy was born in Mt Gambier and made his senior debut for North Gambier at the age of just 16 before going on to represent South Australia in the Teal Cup. Drafted by Richmond in 1992, he went on to play 150 games with the Tigers, winning the Jack Dyer Medal for the best and fairest in 1998.

He also played one game for the Sydney Swans in 2002 before retiring from the game.

He has since coached St Albans in the Geelong Football League, was coaching director at Torquay and was on the coaching staff of Carlton VFL affiliate, the Northern Blues before joining the Roosters coaching panel this year.

Assistant Coach - Forward Line
Paul Jennings ...He coached Newlyn, Waubra and Dunnstown in the Central Highlands Football League before joining the Roosters as a midfield coach, along with Orren Stephenson. This year, he moved to forward line coach.

Lee Prentice

Football Operations Manager
Lee is a former trained nurse and hostel manager whose love of sport, and football in particular, prompted her to take on the part-time role of operations and administration co-ordinator at North Ballarat City Football Netball Club in 2014. She was appointed football operations manager of all North Ballarat Football Club football and netball teams, from under 10s to the Roosters, in March. Previously, she was the volunteer secretary of the Illabarook Football Club (now Smythesdale) for many years.
